going back to work

Although it's been a tough month, there have also been some good things. I spent time with good friends, I think I got a little perspective on work, and I made a little headway on dealing with the fact that I've actually been fighting cancer for the last 2 years and 7 months, and that I seem to have won the battle. I guess the only way I can explain it is like this: if you've spent almost 3 years walking straight into a really strong headwind, moving forward with all your might, and the wind suddenly stops, what happens? You fall flat on your face. That's kind of what happened to me.

Anyways, as you can imagine, I'm not really looking forward to going back to work. I liked spending the days with Winston, running errands in the morning when places aren't so busy, reading fiction, taking photos. But I go back to work tomorrow. The upside is that I'll probably have more actual "stuff that bugs me" entries once I do - I realized that I haven't had as many of those while I've been off. Hmm.

SIGH... How does that saying go? Oh yeah: "You didn't miss a freakin' thing."
Welcome back.

at least you guys had those cool low mounted lights. those things rocked. your part of the building was the cool place to be. second, of course, only to the old SEPG row.

jon: wait - i know how a better saying goes:
"welcome (back) to hell."

skorloff: no deadlines for you!

p-man: the unfortunate part is that i'm not under the cool lighting. i'm in the brighter-than-the-sun part.
