hell on earth
The new mall, The Shops at La Cantera, is a hellhole. It is like being on the surface of the sun. Who builds a completely outdoor, upscale, non-outlet mall in TEXAS? The crowds are intense, the parking is ridiculous, there is no breeze, there are no traffic signs to tell you who should yield at the many intersections of 5 winding roads in the parking lots, and the line at every single fast food joint in the food court was probably 30 people long.
The worst part is, there are actually some really cool stores there. But I'm probably going to have to take a day off work and go at 9 a.m. to avoid the insanity I was exposed to Saturday. (What was I thinking, going to a mall that's only been open a week at noon on a Saturday???)

Good luck with that 9 AM thing. Working at home, and still haven't been to the shops. Not even an Apple Store in S.A. can make me get within 75mph (passing by on 1604) of that place. A friend recommended giving it at least 6 months, then visiting. I think she's right... it's nuts ANYTIME I pass by there. Who knew San Antonians were that starved for shopping opportunities? And, I hear ya on the open air "concept". When we flew over it and realized it's open air, we thought... "Cool design... bad idea here, though!)
