OK - so, contrary to the expectations set in my last post, last night we watched probably the 2 LEAST scary movies on the planet: Dead Alive, and Re-Animator. Although billed as "revolutionary horror", they were the two campiest "horror" movies ever made. The over-the-top fifteen or twenty minutes straight of gore at the end of Dead Alive was just ridiculous. SPOILER ALERT: The end of the movie is the lead character literally mowing down thirty zombies. Until there's nothing left but zombie sludge. And then his mother comes back, again, twenty feet tall and a ridiculously cartoon-like mother-monster, opens her rib cage, and sucks him back into her "womb".

I can not get my time back for Dead Alive. That is a sad, sad thing. At least Re-Animator had a decapitated body holding his own severed head going down on a girl. I KID YOU NOT.
