Saw Lyrics Born and Cut Chemist at the INdependent last night. The show was FUCKING AMAZING!!! Lyrics Born was incredible, and we got to hear a lot of great new stuff, but thank god he played “I’m Just Raw” – I would’ve been very disappointed if he hadn’t (thanks to Claudia). By the end, we were soaked from head to toe. LB really makes you give it up. (On a side note – I tire of encores. Just play your whole set and be done with it. You’re going to come back; you know it, we know it. Let’s not play games with each other. In the words of Westley/The Dread Pirate Roberts: “We are men/women of action. Lies do not become us.”)

But Cut Chemist BLEW MY MIND!!! It was incredible. I pretty much have no words for how good it was. The sync-up with the video guy was dead-on, the spinning was astounding; I wanted to jump – I rarely want to jump! “What’s the Altitude, featuring Hymnal (live)” was a real booty-rocker. Check the video on CC’s site. My favorite line: “She gave me head…phones.”

And then at the end he went out with a video camera and talked to some people in the audience, then brought it back up, plugged it in, and spun the video! I have a new religion, and it is Cut Chemist.
