changing of the (tagline) guard

"we hate more stuff by 10 a.m. than most people hate all day."

That has been the tagline for stuffthatbugsme since it's inception. It was quite appropriate when all I wrote about was stuff that I hated. These days, it's more a mix of stuff that's good, stuff that bugs me, plain old "check this out!", and much more of my photos. "we hate more stuff..." has served as a good tagline, a devoted tagline, a tagline that will live in infamy. It will be ... a little bit missed. And I reserve the right to change it back at any time. But my new tagline (since I'm apparently the ONLY person who thought it was funny!) is:

"the difference is why you drink."

It makes me laugh every time I say it. So it's going up there. Dissenters be damned.

I mean... I don't hate it. I just wonder if it lacks enough context.
I mean... I get it, but maybe only because I know where it came from.
I mean... it's clever, oh god it's clever. I just wonder if it's too "insider."
I mean... it's perfect... I guess.

Okay fine I liked the old one.

i don't recall approving this change. i don't even recall seeing this change pass by my desk. you clearly didn't follow the change process. did you submit the change request form, accompanied by the change request affidavit, accompanied by a screenshot sample, accompanied by a 4-pack of Duvel? i didn't think so.

dissent is the sound of change. in the words of Ben Stiller, "DO IT, DO IT."

Reminds me of Pink Martini's "Sympathique." My imperfect translation of the French refrain (written and sung by nonnative French speakers, so I'm able to puzzle out the lyrics...

"I don't want to work...
I don't want to eat...
I only want to forget...

So ... I smoke."

Personally, I get stuck on the "don't want to eat" part - but I sure understand the feeling.
