the weather says it all
Is it wrong that I get so giddy when i see the weather here (clear skies, perfect temperatures), vs. the weather where I used to live (it appears to be a stormy hell on earth)?
I get such a deliciously sinful kick out of that. Excuse me while I go work outside in the cool breeze for a while...

Texas weather's not so bad... wait 5 minutes, and it'll change. In actuality, it's been a mild summer. We still haven't hit 99 or 100 degrees. We are double or more our annual rainfall, already, however.
The best of both worlds of course would be SF's climate coupled with CA's average per capital income, but supporting a South Texas cost of living instead of seeing so much of it go to your, well, cost of living there. :-) The last time JR posted your energy costs, alone, I nearly fell out of my chair.

I'll take ... "Hitting the Nail On the Fucking Head" for a thousand, please.

Yes, energy costs are higher than other places but for the clean air, working in silicon valley, gorgeous days and access to so many awesome natural wonders it is well worth it.
Don't let the numbers discourage you.

... and I speak of the metaphor, of course.

Not discouraged in the least. If opportunities took us that way it would certainly be an option. We're spoiled to have all our immediate and close extended family within 1 hour or less drive and especially now with Sara that's worth its weight in gold pressed latinum. ;-)
