We’ve been working hard on the house – de-cluttering, organizing, rearranging, and changing out lights. Everything was going gangbusters – we installed a chandelier in the living room, a new light in the bathroom, and then JR got started putting under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen. We were smoking through all the things we wanted to get done this weekend, really making the apartment feel like a home.
I was in the living room when I heard a big BOOM! JR had gotten going so fast that he forgot he’d left one of the cords he was splicing plugged in, and it didn’t take too kindly to the wirecutters. JR is lucky he’s not in the hospital! The best part is – I can’t use the hairdryer while I’m microwaving my breakfast without flipping a breaker, but JR can practically electrocute himself by cutting a live wire, and the lights don’t even dim a little.

You probably didn’t get electrocuted because those wire cutters have a big hole in them and so they didn’t cut all the way into the wire! You should look into getting some new ones. Good wire cutters should be completely flat and sharp along the entire cutting surface. Large holes like that are a clear sign that your wire cutters need replacing. Worn out wire cutters are the leading cause of improperly cut wire in America and I urge you as your friend to invest in a new pair now before it’s too late.
Seriously, though, I’m glad you didn’t get hurt. Did the freak accident give you the power to shoot bolts of electricity from your eyes or let you boil water by just touching it or grant you powers of telekinesis or at least give you a nice-looking ‘fro?

Those look familiar…I have a set just like them…i dont think a tool box is truly complete until you have a nice pair of electrically enhanced wire cutters…
