sign the petition

(formerly "let them know how you feel") Apparently the meaning of this post was lost to some, so let me clear it up for you. We are destroying our planet, through our own laziness and the government's lack of action on the problem. Better choices are out there, but we're not forcing the powers-that-be to make them. So, if you care, let them know how you feel - they can't keep ignoring us if we make our voices heard.

And minimize your own impact; take to heart some of the personal actions you can take in your own life to make a difference; at home, on the go, at work. Carpool. Reduce/Reuse/Recycle. Save energy. Things as simple as changing your air filters on time - I know that's something I need to start doing. We also consume lots of water bottles in our home, because it's so convenient. Even though we recycle, that's not enough; we shouldn't even be buying bottled water at all. That's a personal change I want to make, at home and at work. It's hard, but every little bit counts. Just like every little voice counts. They all add up. So go sign the petition. Make yourself heard.

Thanks for the post. I haven't been following my hybrid-electric vehicle online community much (not *my* community, I mean, but one I frequent...anyhoo) so I've been a touch out of the loop on new greener, smarter, wiser, friendlier living sites/initiatives.

My family's a bit of an oxymoron right now--an F-150 Supercrew 4x4 (one of the worst polluting vehicles produced, and unfortunately, the best selling truck in the USA for something like 2 decades or more) and a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid (better fuel economy than my old Corolla--averaging 32.2 MPG right now cuz I'm hauling too much crap in it, and driving a little more aggressively than I used to for some reason (thought parenthood would do the opposite... think I get angry at how little others care for the personal safety of their fellow man, so I'm driving faster to get away from asshats faster? Yeah, not real great logic...faster speed in a crash=worse, even with all 15,000 airbags I have (kidding... but it is like 6?)

Anyway...sorry...apparently I had a backlog of words to use since I've been limited mostly to twitter posts lately (only 140 chars and I?...yeah, that can't go well...)

yeah - you guys are already a step ahead with the Ford hybrid. we live in SF and *still* have 2 cars. we just can't decide which one to sell - his is way more comfy, way less road noise, but mine is smaller and gets better gas mileage, plus it's already paid off. but we hardly ever use it because his is so much nicer. it's a conundrum.

and don't worry about the word backlog - get ready for a flood of photos, since i've been slacking on that front. :)

(whispers) Yours would be easier to park without getting ticketed.
