that new bus smell

Getting on the shuttle tonight was pretty cool – slightly curved stairway in, new leather and carpet smell. Sweet cushy leather seats, TV screens at the front, better pull-down shades. Or so I thought.

They really are nice, don’t get me wrong – terrific first impression. But the pull-down shades don’t block as much light, and the leather smell is so over-powering that I can barely breathe. Doozy of a headache in full-force now. And as usual, I chose the short side of the bus. Laugh if you want, but there really is one. One side has more leg room between each row of seats, I guess because of the door or the driver’s seat – I’m not sure. It’s not always the same side.

It’s hard to remember to breathe through your mouth for an entire bus ride.
