BlogHer '08: morning recap

Beautiful hotel, great first session on Pursuing Your Passion with Maggie Mason, Evany Thomas, Melissa Summers, and Sarah Brown. They were hilarious, and even though they seemed like old friends, some of them had just met. I talked to Maggie before the session, and I even stood up and asked a question! Very proud of myself.

And now the crippling introversion & insecurity hits. It seems like everyone knows each other, have people to talk to/lunch with, and I'm left wanting to crawl into a corner and die. I was doing so well this morning, sitting with complete strangers and having a *fabulous* convo about (I'm about to talk about my breasts again!!!) BRAS!!!

I feel like I need a shot (literally) of liquid courage to go back up there.

Deep breaths. I thought dooce and mightygirl were intimidating - most of these women, even the newbies, have about 40 readers. I think on a usual day I have 12. It spikes when I do something like post a photo of my ankle in a cast where you can see my toes, but come on.

OK. Back into the fray I suppose. Terrified as I may be, I made myself a solemn promise to myself. Meet people. And don't run away in fear. Here I go.
