marfa, tx: PRADA
A short drive away, between Marfa and El Paso, is the Prada Marfa art installation, a non-functional, stand-alone, stocked “boutique” in the middle of nowhere. Read about it on wikipedia. It’s like something out of Land of the Lost, plucked from a high end shopping district and plopped in the barren desert.
The Prada installation is actually closer to a little deserted town called Valentine, with the kind of crumbling walls and aged signage that you know I can’t pass up taking shots of.
Stay tuned for even more Marfa!

I wanted to see that snake the skin belonged to.
I think that’s some kind of cactus shell, like an ocotillo, not a snake skin. What do you think?
I’m voting snakeskin. :) Love the photos of the Marfa Prada. I had no idea anything like that existed, and I’m glad they didn’t let the vandals end the installation/exhibit.
