Camp Mighty and Charity Water
So, way back before I had a job, I registered for Camp Mighty, a weekend retreat in Palm Springs to learn to Live Better, Get Smarter, and Do Gooder. I’ve been sooo envious of all the neat women who have been lucky enough to be invited to Mighty Summit, so I figured this was my best chance at getting to know some of them, learn cool stuff like how to pop champagne with a sword, put together my own Life List, and raise money for charity:water.
Cut to many months later. I’ve started a new job at a startup, I’m crazy busy, we’ve had weddings and parent’s retirement parties and site redesign launches and new product launches. I can barely come up for breath, Camp Mighty is THIS WEEK, I have yet to crack # 20 on my Life List, and charity:water needs our help.
charity:water is a non-profit organization which helps bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects. Water crisis disproportionately affects women and children; the time they spend gathering water is time that can’t be spent going to school, learning, starting a business, raising children. Ready to act? Any amount helps. You can read more about what your money will do and then donate on my Camp Mighty Team Two donation page - just remember to put my name (Ashley Veselka) in the comments. While you’re there, watch a couple of the other campaign videos to see the charity:water team in action, bringing clean water to those who desperately need it.
Now I’ve got to get cracking on my Life List…
